On the whole drive home Tanya couldn’t stop thinking of what had just happened and what she had gone through. When she finally got home and parked the car she just sat in it for a good while still unsure what to do. Her stomach growled, reminding her that she needed some food.
-I wonder if I have anything in the freezer that I can heat up, I really don’t feel like cooking any food.
She then remembered the offer Jenna had made.
-Maybe I should have accepted it after all?
No it was all too weird, somehow she didn’t feel safe in that house. Well could be the disappearing cage and the tube with a person in it that had something to do with it she thought sarcastically.
-I am so sure that I saw it!
She said while walking up the steps to her apartment. She took her handbag up and grabbed her key. She unlocked the door and took off her heels and coat. It felt good to be home again. Stepping into the kitchen there was a person in light green latex sitting and waiting for her. Tanya nearly had a heart attack.
-WHOA, WHAT THE FUCK!?!
If it wasn’t for the fact that she recognized the person she would have ran out and called the cops. Michelle looked up and said.
-Finally your back. Took you long enough. Do you have the key?
She looked upset, and granted, she had probably waited here for quite some time.
-How the hell did you get in?
But she didn’t want to answer the question.
-The key, do you have it? She pronounced each letter for the word key.
-NO! I don’t have it. I asked for the key and the person responsible for the key said that they didn’t even know what I was talking about! And that’s only the beginning of all the weird things I’ve been through!
-Hmf, so you don’t have the key then and they let you leave? I see.
See what!? Was this a perfectly understandable situation? Tanya felt like slapping her silly but quickly buried the feeling.
-Good for you. Tanya said sarcastically “Now don’t mind me but I’m going to heat a pizza and go to bed, you may leave the way you came.”
-Unfortunately you don’t have a choice any more. Sir has ordered me to take you back since he feels his belt needs to be within his reach.
-Listen here! I AM GOING TO HEAT A PIZZA AND THEN I AM GOING TO BED!
With no change in her demeanour Michelle stood up, and approached Tanya.
-Wait what are you doing? Stay away from me!
Michelle just walked up with confidence and trapped Tanya against the wall.
-Last chance, you either follow me on your own volition or I will make you. There was a dark undertone to her voice and it almost sounded like a challenge.
-No! I’m going to…
But Tanya stopped as she was spun around and put in a sleeper hold.
-Hnnggggggmmmheeeee.
-It’ll be over soon, shush, I’m a professional.
A professional of what? But Tanya’s thoughts stopped as she quickly became unconscious.
Michelle made sure Tanya was safe and then cleaned the place up, lumped the body on her shoulder and left the apartment remembering to lock the door behind her.
It sure was fun to get these mini missions she thought to herself.
-I bet Sir will be very pleased with my performance~
They watched the car drive away while they waved.
-Finally she’s gone. Do you think she suspected anything? The husband said.
-I’m sure she does but she can’t prove anything so it will just remain a doubt in her mind.
They stepped inside and closed the door.
-Too bad she had the belt on. He continued. “She could have been our stepping stone into SirTech.”
-And we still haven’t found the key either but we have the subject who was last known to have it. How she managed to hide it while being under surveillance 24/7 is quite impressive.
-That’s why we had to speed up the plan. Jenna reminded him. Not sure how she knew about our plans but here we are now. Need to make the best of the situation.
She raised her arm and inserted a cable in one of her hidden sockets.
-Keep watch while I go over the footage again and make a report to headquarters. She closed her eyes and went silent.
-Roger that.
He was an earlier model and as such was made to follow. He didn’t mind, it was probably due to his program as well. So he made sure to do as he was told.
Had he been any later this Tanya would have blown their cover. So he felt luck was on their side. He had helped carry the vat out and into the transport vehicle so she was safe for now. He was not sure what the AI wanted with this Jenna, it was not his place to question things. But nothing wrong with thinking?
-Maybe I should have a maintenance check when we come back?
But “Jenna” was busy with her duties. He wanted to call her by her designated serial number but that would have been a breach of conduct and the thought of being reprimanded or worse was not something he wanted.
He wondered if the feelings he had for this “Jenna” was real or copied from the host? Or was it just a few parameters that had been tweaked?
-Ah, there I go again. Focus on the job at hand!
He checked the windows and it was quiet outside. The cage with the pig creature had also been transferred off for safety. Apparently it was a close friend to this “Jenna” and he didn’t understand how someone could willingly enter such a small cage and enjoy it.
-These humans sure are strange creatures.
An angry beep from Jenna could be heard.
-Right, right, stay in character.
He continued on with his watch throughout the night. Hoping for a chance to spend some more time with “Jenna” but in that regard he wasn’t as lucky, she worked through the whole night.
