Fern finds a jelly cat 🤔
Fern was on her way home from work when something caught her eye. There was a jelly cat just left in the street! "How odd, I can't just leave it there," she thought to herself. Fern got off her bike and stuffed the jelly cat into her backpack.
As she looked around to check if anyone saw her she noticed another jelly cat further down the street. She pushed her bike towards the jelly cat and also stuffed it in her backpack. "Score!" she thought to herself.
Fern was too excited about finding free jelly cats to stop and wonder where they came from. As she continued further down the street she came across more jelly cats, one after the other. This wasn't her normal route home anymore but she kept following the trail of jelly cats and stuffing them into her bag. Her backpack was now starting to bulge but she was determined to get all the cuddly creatures inside.
The trail of cuddlies suddenly started to towards a block of garages behind a parade of shops. It was starting to look a little sketchy but the jelly cats were worth it. She got off her bike and followed the gravel road towards the garages, picking up more jelly cats as she went.
The block of garages were seculded and there was no one around now, just a trail of jelly cats leading towards a parked van with it's rear doors open. She knew it was strange but she couldn't help but follow the trail. So far all the jellycats had been the small palm sized ones but as she approached the van she spotted something amazing inside. It was dim but she could make out the unmistakable shape of a huge teddy bear sitting upright at the back of the van.
Fern looked around to check if anyone was watching, then climbed up into the back of the van. She approached the giant teddy and rubbed it's fur. She tried to move the teddy but it seemed heavier than she expected. That was when she noticed the teddy's paws were restrained in fluffy padded cuffs. "Huh" she murdered to herself as she gave the teddy another tug to try and free it.
She could have sworn she felt the teddy bear move slightly and make a muffled groan. "How am I going to get you home?" she thought to herself.
Just as Fern bent down to try and untie the teddy the doors of the van slammed shut and she felt the van pull away sharply. As the van sped off she was flung into the huge teddy. Fern gulped, that was when Fern realised she was being kidnapped.
There were no seats in the back of the van so fern sat upright against the teddy sitting between its legs. As the van went over a speed bump she was sure she heard the teddy moan slightly but she was probably imagining things.
The van stopped and seemed to sit still for a while before moving slightly then stopping again. It seemed like the teddy was enjoying the vibrations from the idling engine. "We must be stuck in traffic" Fern thought.
Suddenly the inside of the van went dark, there was no more light coming through the blacked out windows. The van must have been driving through a tunnel.
After a long drive the van came to a stop. She heard the driver door open and someone get out and walk round to the rear of the van.
The doors opened and a woman stood there looking at Fern with a grin on her face. Oh no, it was Jenna.
"Sir asked me to look after you" said Jenna.
Fern was slightly relieved that she hadn't been kidnapped by a nutcase but she was still a little anxious.
"Did you like the jelly cats?" asked Jenna.
"Yes! But I've never seen one this big before," replied Fern while pointing towards the huge teddy she was sitting up against.
"Oh that's a special kind of jelly cat," said Jenna with a grin.
Jenna pulled out a small remote from her pocket and clicked a button and suddenly a loud rumbling noise could be heard from the teddy as it seemed to squirm and wiggle in its restraints.
"Oh wow!" said Fern who was wondering what it must be like to be a giant teddy.
"Do I get to keep the jelly cats?"
"Yes, but this special one is all mine," replied Jenna with a devious tone.
"Do you think sir would like a special teddy?"
Fern gulped, wondering what that meant.
Jenna explained that she would be looking after Fern for the time being and that she had her key. Fern had been too preoccupied with all the cuddly shenanigans to fully comprehend her predicament. "Oh dear," she thought.
